Jan 27th 1984

Michael Jacksons Head catches Fire

On January 27, 1984, Michael and other members of the Jacksons filmed a Pepsi Cola commercial, overseen by executive Phil Dusenberry, from ad agency BBDO and Pepsi's Worldwide Creative Director, Alan Pottasch at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. In front of a full house of fans during a simulated concert, pyrotechnics accidentally set Jackson's hair on fire. He suffered second-degree burns to his scalp. Jackson underwent treatment to hide the scars on his scalp, and he also had his third rhinoplasty shortly thereafter. Jackson never recovered from this injury. Pepsi settled out of court, and Jackson donated his $1.5 million settlement to the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, California, which now has a "Michael Jackson Burn Center" in honor of his donation. Dusenberry later recounted the episode in his memoir, Then We Set His Hair on Fire: Insights and Accidents from a Hall of Fame Career in Advertising.
Some reports say that this was a turning point in Jacksons life and led to drug use and a gradual decline into erratic behavior. It is also claimed that hair never grew back through the scar tissue and Jackson wore a wig for the rest of his life.
Video footage of this was kept under wraps for years but now it is available for everyone to see on several different viginettes on YouTube. If you are into watching a man dancing around with his head on fire you should go check it out.

Right now We have in stock 26 Hex Receiver M91/30 Rifles with electro pencil serial #'s on the bolt, and/or floorplate/buttplate.
We pride ourselves on trying to carry all stamped # rifles and when we find any that aren't we segregate them out and sell them at a reduced price. However, the fact is, as shooters, they are absolutely as good as any of the others. These all head space perfectly, are arsenal refinished to very good / excellent condition, and are ready to fire.
I have a mixture of Tula and Ishevsk maufature.
All are Hex Receiver. All come with bayonets and a leather pouch.
We do not have original Nagant slings with these rifles but we are throwing in a canvas and leather expidentinary sling. Cosmetically these are all very nice with good wood, and nice blue. They are exactly like our other more expensive rifles except they will have one of more electro pencil serial #. The primary receiver serial # will of course still be stamped.

Fabrique Nationale .308 Ammo in Bandoliers

This stuff is just too cool, but it is only a very, very, small quantity. We found a small lot,
( total of 4500 rounds ) of this ammo mixed in with our stuff in cans on 4 round links.
This was not in cans but simply several bandoliers packaged very cleanly in these really thick coated cardboard boxes. The ammo in headstamped F.N. 71 and has the target crosshairs on the headstamp. Each bandolier contains 50 rounds total, 5 rounds each on strippers, with 2-5 round strippers of ammo in each pocket. The bandoliers and ammo look new as you can see in the actual photo above. This is a nice find. .308 stripper clips are hard to come by and are expensive when you do find them. M-14 / M1A Rifles have a stripper clip guide on the bolt face and I believe these were for military issue to divisions carrying M14's.
We are selling these by the bandolier so you get a total of 50 rounds of ammo,
10 stripper clips and 1 bandolier / each.

Hard Chrome AK Rifle

These are absolutely beautiful. From time to time we are able to have a small batch of rifles done in a hard chrome finish. This brushed chrome is not only beautiful but tough as nails for a long life, no mar, no rust finish. It also makes for something really unique and everyone who sees one in person is just blown away. Believe me, my cheap little fuji camera with flash just does not do justice to the rich deep finish the chrome brings to these rifles.
We have done several small batches in the past and everyone is always pleased. The only complaint we ever get is the price. The chroming process is expensive and with times being what they are people are doing all they can to hold on to a dollar. As such, we set out to see how we could bring this to market as low as possible.
We couldn't skip on the quality, and frankly we just would not if we could. What we could do was just go bare bones , down and dirty, meat and potatoes, to get this price to our lowest offering on a high quality Chrome AK ever.

Yugo SKS Rifles
With Minor Cracked Stocks

Yugo SKS Rifles have really started to dry up in the marketplace and our
understanding is that they are totally out in Serbia and the former Yugoslav Republic.

We just purchased the remaining lot of Yugo SKS rifles from a major importer.
These rifles were manufactured in the famous Zastava Plant. The rifles they had left were a small lot that the importer had assigned the product code of SKS-GC.
The GC stands for good cracked. It means that the rifles graded out cosmetically and mechanically ( function wise ) as good or better, but had a crack in the stock somewhere. We had reservations about taking these but were assured that the cracks were minor and certainly fixable and that overall they were nice rifles that simply had a crack somewhere within the stock. After getting these in and inspecting them we found the representation to be for the most part very true.
At least 90 percent of the stocks that we have seen have very minor cracks that are fixable with gorilla glue or worst case scenario a wood screw recessed into the stock.
Some are very minor cracks relegated to the handguard or even just a deep gouge or dig in the wood.
In most cases the minor crack is in a low recoil area and would actually never need to be repaired
except as a personal preference.
In no case will the stocks be broken in two or beyond a resonable ability to repair.
We just wouldn't do that to you.
On some we can't find the crack at all but since they are entered into our books under the GC product code
we are going to sell them that way.
Otherwise, expect some bluing wear ( some have very little and some have a lot ), and the typical
dents and dings in the stocks, as well as lots of cosmoline as is typical with Yugo SKS rifles.
Overall a solid , functional, highly reliable, although not cosmetically beautiful rifle.
I have posted a couple of examples of what you should expect in a cracked stock above.
If the cracks are much more significant than what you see there we will hold the rifle out
and post a picture of it individually later on.
We are not about trying to suprise people.
These are a great value for the money and will make great shooters
Each Rifle comes complete with a flip out bayonet and will ship with a leather belt type ammo pouch.
These are affordable and the ammo is inexpensive and fun to shoot. More accurate than the AK.

Allen Camo Padded Nylon Rifle / Shotgun Case

This is one of those instances where a bad thing works out for a good ending. Allen is one of the biggest, oldest, and most trusted names in the firearms accessory business. We recently took on some of their product line but somehow our initial order got data entered incorrectly and we ended up getting 1000 of these cases. Now granted , we think they are great cases. They are autumn camo pattern, well made, heavily padded, and fit any non-scoped rifle or shotgun up to 52"in length. Water resistant nylon outer with thick foam padding and soft black flannel lining.
They also have a double stitched, riveted hanging loop on the end for hanging on a field camp hook or tree limb.
Still, these are somewhat out of our product line and we would have never carried them or ordered this kind of quantity and all of a sudden the truck shows up with several pallets of them. Well, here is where the bad, turns into good. We contacted Allen, and they found out it was indeed a data entry error on their part and they had shipped them out by mistake. Still, it was going to be expensive on them to have them shipped back so they offered us a deal that we just couldn't turn down to keep them. As a result.... you the customer are the winner.
